What You Need to Know
Eligibility:
Films must have been made since 2022.
All animated techniques and genres are welcome.
Submissions must include English subtitles
Submission Details:
All films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.
Works-in-progress are not accepted.
Films must adhere to copyright laws.
Deadlines:
Regular Deadline: December 11, 2024
Late Deadline: January 11, 2025
Notification Date: February 28, 2025

Why Is There a Submission Fee?
Unlike many animation festivals in central and eastern Europe, UK-based festivals don’t receive public or government funding. The Brighton International Animation Festival is a not-for-profit event, and submission fees go directly toward covering festival expenses. Your contribution makes this celebration of animation possible.

If selected, you’ll need to provide a high-resolution export of your film and a still image for promotional purposes. By submitting, you also grant permission for non-commercial use of stills and trailers to promote the festival.
